Made-to-measure Laundry Cabinets and Bathroom Vanities
Laundry joinery needs the actual washer and dryer dimensions, door clearances, storage needs and access to service connections. A proposal to keep plumbing in the same position still needs the fittings and usable space checked against the cabinet layout. Plan fold-out benches, stacked appliances and tall cupboards around their intended use rather than nominal appliance sizes.
Vanity joinery needs the basin, supports, selected materials and adjoining wall and floor finishes coordinated. Substrates, edges and fixings must suit the specified product and exposure. Cabinets do not replace wet-area waterproofing, and plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing and tiling remain separately agreed responsibilities.
Site Measure, Materials and Drawings Before Manufacture
Existing walls and floors can vary, so the site measure records the room, service positions, installation access and junctions to retained finishes. Fillers, scribes, appliance openings and door clearances need to be shown in the agreed layout. Rough dimensions or inspiration images help the discussion but do not establish final manufacturing sizes.
Approve the cabinet board, door finish, edge treatment, handles, hinges and runners with the drawings and appliance information. Natural timber and manufactured surfaces have different appearance and care considerations, so samples can help settle expectations. Record who supplies each component and how a later change to the layout or selection will be priced before manufacture.
Cabinet Installation and Benchtop or Trade Handover
Installation depends on sufficiently ready walls, floors and service positions. Plan cabinet fixing, benchtop measuring and installation, splashbacks and connections in an agreed sequence with the relevant trades. Check access for large units and protect retained surfaces during delivery and fitting.
Benchtop supply and installation need a lawful selected product and an identified responsible specialist; review the benchtop FAQ before specifying a material. Does cabinetry work include a complete bathroom renovation?
This service focuses on cabinet manufacture, installation and vanity joinery, which can be planned without assuming a complete bathroom renovation. The actual room still needs its plumbing, electrical connections, waterproofing, tiling and benchtop interfaces assessed and assigned to the responsible trades. The quote should identify the cabinet materials and installation separately from those surrounding packages.
Can new engineered-stone benchtops be included?
New engineered-stone benchtops, panels and slabs are prohibited under the applicable South Australian rules. Legacy work and exemptions have separate conditions. Confirm a lawful selected product and specialist responsibilities before ordering; alternative stone products may still present silica risks.
Should I replace a cupboard when only a door or drawer is damaged?
Not automatically. First assess the cabinet body, affected door or drawer and available hardware. Local repair may be worth comparing with replacement, but the written scope must confirm whether that task is included. For new manufacture, approve the measured layout, door materials, hardware and appliance clearances before ordering.
